Everybody loves to get a takeaway now and again and one of the best things about takeaways is the sheer variety available. Any big city or town should have a variety of different takeaways to choose from; from Chinese to Indian, pizza to fish and chips. For most of us, getting a takeaway is a bit of a treat, often shared with our partner, friends or family. This makes the whole experience even more fun and enjoyable; combining great food with great company.
Whether you are collecting your takeaway or having it delivered, getting that first smell of the food you have ordered always gets the taste buds going. If you’ve ordered a Chinese takeaway, you might get a waft of sweet-and-sour chicken, chow mein, crispy chilli beef or house special fried rice. If it’s an Indian takeaway you have ordered, perhaps you will be smelling a korma or vindaloo, onion bhajis, pakoras or peshwari naan.
Chinese and Indian takeaways are probably the most popular takeaways in the UK, however there are lots of other options. A takeaway pizza is always a great treat; brilliant to eat with friends or family whilst watching a movie or your favourite TV show. Takeaway fish and chips is obviously a very popular British favourite and usually not as expensive as other takeaways.
Then you have other foods from around the world such as Thai, Italian or Mexican food. Fans of Chinese food are often also fans of Thai takeaways as the style can often be similar, but the recipes and tastes are very different. Italian takeaways generally consist of traditional pasta dishes, while Mexican takeaways make great use of spices to make such great dishes as tacos, fajitas and enchiladas
Whatever kind of takeaway you choose to get, one of the other great things about ordering and eating takeaways is the fact that you do not have to cook it yourself! Getting to eat freshly cooked food from around the world is obviously fantastic, but not actually having to get your hands dirty and cook it is an added bonus. After you’re done eating, relax with friends and family and leave the dishes till tomorrow morning
